"I just wanted to share some thoughts with you on the intervention. First and foremost, I was very hesitant to believe anything could be accomplished. I thought my friend’s daughter was so tough and uncooperative that it would be a waste of time and feared it would make things worse. I was sure that she was different than anything that you had experienced. I now know that I was wrong on all fronts.

Here is what I learned by watching you and your team:

• That you are professional and your experience both personal and in this line of work was key in letting you hone in on the group, and therefore the customization of this intervention.
• You most gently took the parents and then their daughter, from denial to reality without any harshness, shame or judgement.
• You provided enough of a real look at what the intervention would be like that we felt prepared, the next day when we were in the throws of it. You were a hundred percent on the point about the roles and order, and how events could play out. That strong pre-day preparedness was crucial in us all being both mentally and emotionally ready for the reaction of the person.

I would have to say if I hadn’t been involved first-hand, I would remain doubtful, thinking it would become too out of control, risky, volatile, and too uncomfortable to even sit through. Seeing this first-hand and watching the success unrolled and knowing that my friend’s daughter is taking the first step for her and her family to get their lives back has me recommending your team 100% to anyone in a similar situation.

"When we first had your team come out we are now somewhat reluctant to admit that we had no real intention of saving our sister. After several failed interventions and at least 5 world-renowned treatment centers, we had given up. We hired you guys to come out and attempt another (what we thought was going to be) failed intervention, with the sole purpose of then getting custody of her kids when she rejected treament. During the first day and your hope and encouragement, our attitudes began to change. I couldn’t believe that you stayed out for 5 solid days, carefully guiding my sister to come to her own realizations. On that final day, when she said that she wanted to change her life, I knew that I was witnessing a miracle, and we couldn’t have done it without you. "Hey Kevin,

How are things going with you? I hope you received the letter I wrote about Jack’s homecoming. He’s been back from treatment since December 25 and so far so good! Jack just found out yesterday that he got a job and will start on Monday. Kevin, we’re actually doing family things again! Eating together, talking, joking around. It’s amazing! I had no idea how bad things got. He’s called Dave (his counselor) a few times just to stay in touch.
