Illinois Interventions for Drugs or Alcohol
We perform several drug and alcohol interventions in Illinois per month because of the close proximity of our main office to Chicago and its suburbs. The hallucinogenic and stimulating effects that club drugs produce have caused their popularity to rise as well. Raves occur quite often in Illinois, also causing club drugs to be in high demand. Illinois’ ecstasy supply is shipped into Chicago from the Netherlands. It is then sold at street-level by Polish, Eastern Europeans, Israelis, and Russian groups. However, marijuana is still the most readily-available and widely abused drug throughout Illinois.
Marijuana is abused by various age, racial, and social groups all over Illinois. Cannabis cultivators are drawn to the fertile soil and sparsely populated rural regions of the state. Methamphetamine has yet to cause a threat to Illinois. However, outlaw motorcycle gangs in central and southern Illinois are partly responsible for manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine.
